Life just threw me
Another high flying curve ball
And Iím just standing here
Afraid to swing
Afraid Iíll strike out
But you know, Iíve realized
That if I donít try, Iíll always fail

Chorus:
I need to step out
Get tough
Play rough
Face the scary things in life
So why am I still sitting here?
I need to step out

Iím not afraid to get dirty
Iím not afraid to fall
I know how it is
It hurts
It stinks
But Iíve done them both so many times
I donít fear doing it again

Chorus:
I need to step out
Get tough
Play rough
Face the scary things in life
So why am I still sitting here?
I need to step out

And sometimes just walking forward
Can be the hardest thing to do
Moving on when you canít see whatís ahead
Go ahead
Take another step
Someone will catch you
If you happen to fall

So step out
Get tough
Play rough
Face the scary things in life
Why are you still sitting here?
You need to step out

Oh yeah, go step out
Yeah, this is the song I was inspired to write while doing my journal. Strange...

Amazing symbology... if that's what it is. Do you sing or perform your songs? Cos I can totally tell it has a tune and everything. It sounds like 3 Doors Down or something, except more concrete and graphic :)

Yeah, there is much symbolism laced into this piece. I tend to be a quiet person when I'm with people I don't know/don't feel comfortable with. I REALLY don't want to be a wall flower while I'm here at college, however, and this is my vain attempt to remind myself that I need to go out on a limb a little and "step out."

And yes, I did sing this song while I was writing it. Most of my songs have a tune to them when I write them (either that or they develop one while I'm editing them), but anyway. I have to say, I've only sung a few of my songs for anyone, and they are generally small children who don't mind me singing a capella. Glad you like it, though^^

lol awesome. I'm learning guitar, so I'm starting to get an interest in really writing lyrics myself, but I know I have a lot to learn. Before I just knew bass, and you can't really sing to a bass song... but do you play guitar? It's great fun.

Hah, I wish I played guitar. No, I play.. >.> <.< *whispers* flute. Meh, I hate the ditzy sterio type attatched to it, but yeah, thats what I play. That and drums XD LOVE the percussion.

I was starting to learn guitar in my seventh grade music class, but then the boys screwed around one to many times, and we never really learned anything >.<

LOL me too! I learned in 6th, but I thought it was the crap of the world and went rebel on everyone. But now that I've decided to do it on my own, it's cool :)

My daddy plays flute! I've always loved the sound of flutes, especially in rock songs... it makes them a lot more surreal and stuff, you know? If I ever have a band, I'll have a flute or something in it :)

lol, did you enjoy the game?

I have to say, that first part reminded me very much of the first year I played softball. I was so afraid I'd strike out that I wouldn't swing at the ball. Finally I swung in the very last game..I didn't strike out, but the ball beat me to the base  Went from there. Anyways.

well, a kid got hit with a fast ball, going around seventy o_O;; he went down fast, but he was okay. hit him kind of in the back or somewhere around there. the pitcher went up and shook his hand after.

i never liked sports in P.E. classes. the guys always assumed girls couldn't play...so i never played well. kind of like a mind-set thing...i dunno -shrug-

Ouch. The pitchers used to hit my brother on purpose. Until my brother got big enough to hit back, that is XD

Meh, I love soccer. I got the guys to respect me in that sport after Steven kicked me in the face and I kept going...

Aha, Kairo likes your brother already. Hit back! xD

I like soccer, too-- better'n other sports. But I always get queasy and crampy if I run for too long...I'm okay if I ride my bike or run a stationary treadmill, but...I dunno, it annoys me x_X

Kicked in the face? :O Kairo likes you better now too :) Shake it off! xD lol~

Kevin's now 6'2 (and still growing) He doesn't get picked on anymore. Though he did get into a lot of fights his eigth grade year.

Soccer fun. Even if it does hurt. Wait, hurt? There is no pain that can't be over come in soccer. Only if my ankles are giving out..again, will I be sidelined.
